Parents and children: how important is the family in the use of money by the new generations
The Museum of Saving developed and promoted the sample research “Parents and children: how important is the family in the use of money by the new generations” conducted between September and October 2022. The aim of the research was to understand whether money management models are part of the educational content offered by parents, how they transfer across generations and how they are adopted by children.

Measuring financial education
At the end of 2021, the Museum of Saving developed and promoted a survey in order to verify the existence and effects of possible distortions in the measurement of Italians’ financial education. In particular, it was assessed whether different questions from the standard ones, formulated in a more engaging way from a personal point of view, give different results from the sadly known ones which see Italians at the bottom of the financial literacy ranking.

The Value of Environmental and Economic Sustainability for very young people
In 2021, the Museum of Saving, in collaboration with Episteme, promoted the research “The Value of Environmental and Economic Sustainability for very young people” in order to find out how children from 13 to 18 deal with the topic of sustainability. It is a complementary study to the educational activity of the S.A.V.E project that the Museum has created and has been offering for three years together with the EIB Institute.

Tolerance and Reaction capacity in times of pandemic
The Tolerance and Reaction Capacity during a pandemic research conducted by the Intesa Sanpaolo Museum of Saving and Episteme in October 2020, measures – for the first time – the synthetic index of the country’s ability to bear and react, six months after the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Digitalization and Financial Awareness
In 2020, the Museum of Saving, in collaboration with Episteme, and with the support of Intesa Sanpaolo, carried out a research aimed at exploring the impact of the propagation of digital tools and services on the awareness of Italians in money management.

Financial education, needs and expectations of new Italians
At the end of 2018, the Museum of Saving and Intesa Sanpaolo promoted a survey, conducted by Ipsos, on the knowledge and integration needs of foreigners in Italy. The survey, the first ever carried out in Italy on these topics, involved economic immigrants who have lived in Italy between 3 and 10 years, for whom a responsible management of money and saving is fundamental for their active citizenship.

Women and saving management
In 2017 and 2018, the Museum of Saving in collaboration with Episteme, and with the support of Intesa Sanpaolo, carried out an original research aimed at exploring and measuring the degree of awareness and control of Italian women in money management.
The research confirmed a persistent and significant gender gap between men and women regarding the economic situation and the management of savings, in terms of attitudes and behaviors adopted.
