What artificial intelligences can (not) do

On Thursday 30th November, at 6pm, the Museum of Saving  proposes the online event “What artificial intelligences can (not) do“, an informative meeting on the applications of AI and the impact it can have on our society.

As technological progress advances rapidly, Artificial Intelligence is revolutionizing the way humans interact with machines.

In Italy and around the world, AI is used to carry out mechanical tasks that would require a lot of time. But not only. Thanks to this technology it is possible to make machines capable of carrying out complex actions and “reasoning”, learning from mistakes, and carrying out functions that were previously exclusive to human intelligence.

The discussion on the applications of AI and the impact it can have on our society puts us face to face with ethical questions: the critical spirit typical of philosophical research can be essential to constructively contribute to the open dialogue on this technological revolution.

It will be discussed together with Giovanna Paladino, Director and curator of the Museum of Saving, by:

  • Emiliano Ippoliti, Professor of Logic and Philosophy at La Sapienza University and author of “Critical guide to artificial intelligence”;
  • Laura Li Puma, Head of the Artificial Intelligence Laboratory – Intesa Sanpaolo Innovation Center;
  • Angelo Maria Petroni, General Secretary of the Aspen Institute and Professor of Logic and Philosophy at La Sapienza University.
