My Place in the World 2025 – event for high schools

AI: one more tool

Knowing and using artificial intelligence to build your future consciously.

Museum of Saving, Fondazione Circolo dei lettori, Junior Achievement Italia, Tuttoscuola

Artificial intelligence is a revolutionary technology, capable of changing the way we study, work and carry out our projects.
We are often held back by fears, forgetting that AI is not here to replace us, but to give us an extra boost: help us express the best of ourselves, make faster and more conscious decisions, and free up time and energy to invest in what really matters.
As a tool, learning to use it correctly means growing. The more we develop knowledge and critical thinking, the more we can use its advantages to improve our abilities, simplify studying, generate new ideas and connect still unexplored worlds.
And that’s not all: several studies show that knowing how to use artificial intelligence critically can become a true accelerator of entrepreneurial abilities.
Today, thanks to these technologies, anyone can access specialized skills, create a project from scratch and compete with much larger realities. In the United States the phenomenon of “solo entrepreneurs” is already a reality! Start-ups created by a single person, assisted by AI platforms in every phase, from market analysis to prototype development.
A revolution that opens the door to new possibilities, waiting to be seized!

On the occasion of the tenth edition of My Place in the World, and within the framework of the Financial Education Month, the Museum of Saving, with the special collaboration of the Fondazione Circolo dei lettori, Junior Achievement Italia and the media partner Tuttoscuola, intends to encourage reflection on the extraordinary potential of artificial intelligence as a tool for personal growth and support for the development of human capital.
Students from high schools will have the opportunity to discover how to ride this technological revolution, putting AI at the service of their dreams of personal and professional achievement.

The promoters

Museum of Saving

Created in 2012 on the initiative of Intesa Sanpaolo, it has always represented a space where it is possible to approach the concepts of saving and investment with clear and simple language, in order to improve one’s level of financial literacy. The Museum addresses a diverse audience – adults, adolescents and children – and aims to stimulate the active participation of its visitors. It is not a traditional museum, but a unique “edutainment” project, where technology and interactivity are used to surprise visitors.  www.museodelrisparmio.it

Fondazione Circolo dei lettori

Founded in 2006 in Turin by the Piedmont Region, the Fondazione Circolo dei lettori produces and disseminates culture every day. Every day we start from books to read the present, question the world and ourselves. We are in Turin, Novara, Rivoli, Verbania, and we create and organize festivals such as Torino Spiritualità, Scarabocchi, Radici and the Festival del Classico; we work across the Piedmont area, in a network with organizations throughout Italy and beyond. https://torino.circololettori.it/

Junior Achievement Italia

With more than one hundred years of global experience and over twenty years in Italy, Junior Achievement is the largest non-profit organisation in the world dedicated to economic-entrepreneurial education and school guidance. Confirmed also for 2025 is the nomination for the Nobel Peace Prize, a candidacy that has been repeated since 2022. In more than 100 countries, the JA Worldwide network brings together about 300,000 corporate volunteers from all professional sectors and carries out more than 19 million educational experiences worldwide each year.  www.jaitalia.org

GOOD MORNING AI, WHAT DO WE DO TODAY?

Pierdomenico Baccalario, Writer, Journalist, Screenwriter, Founder of Book on a Tree

When mp3s came out (their creation started right in Turin), it was said that music was over. When we switched on the first Kindle, we wrote that books were destined for museums. Now that AI has arrived, we think it’s the turn of our intelligence, creativity, and our ability to put our minds to solving problems. Perhaps so. Much more probably, not. To prove it, two editors worked on the same story by making a (very talented) debut author and an AI compete on equal terms and all in writing, and then handing the results to a third editor who worked on the two texts “blind”, without knowing their authors. An experiment soon repeated, because even artificial intelligence does not like to stand still.

10.00 – 11.00

WORKSHOP “Book to Business”

Led by Pierdomenico Baccalario

What is creativity? And how do we develop it? Starting from two literary texts, a workshop full of insights, practical suggestions and tricks of the trade to develop all the creative potential we are capable of and transform a brilliant idea into a valid project; all that is needed is an open mind, curiosity and the courage to go beyond the most established mental schemes.

11.00 – 11.10

BREAK

11.10 – 12.10

WORKSHOP “Creative Intelligence: Enterprise between the Pages”

Led by:

Alberto Girardi (in person): Instructional & Learning Designer, JA Italia

Francesca Mazzieri (online): Head of Education, JA Italia

The workshop develops as a path of discovery and creativity that starts from reading a selected book as a source of inspiration. Through the lens of artificial intelligence and the use of an ad hoc Business Model Canvas, participants analyse the themes, characters and dynamics of the text to identify needs, opportunities and potential innovative solutions. From this analysis an original entrepreneurial idea takes shape, translating the values or challenges emerging from the book into a concrete project. The path concludes with the presentation of the different proposals, in which each group shares its vision and the way in which literature can become a driver of innovation.

12.10 – 12.30

Contest “From the book to the idea”

Once the event is over, each class will work on an innovative business idea, completing a simplified document that highlights the chosen problem, the solution proposed with the use of AI, the beneficiaries and the positive impact generated.
The documents will be collected at the end of the activity and subsequently evaluated by a jury chaired by JA Italia.

The winning class will receive a special prize: an exclusive visit to the Museum of Saving with reimbursement of round-trip travel expenses to Turin. There will also be special mentions for the most sustainable idea and the most creative one.
