As part of the Financial Education Month, on Tuesday 11 November at 6 p.m., the Museum of Saving is organising the event “Art & Money. Great Patrons of Yesterday and Today“, with the special participation of Giovanni Morale, Art Historian and Deputy Director of Gallerie d’Italia – Milan.

The intense dialogue and privileged relationships between artists and patrons have always been one of the crucial elements for the development of the arts. Masterpieces of all times were born thanks to the encounter and synergy between artistic genius on one side and ideas, ambitions and economic means on the other.
Perhaps not everyone knows that many public art collections are the result of generous private donations or enlightened patronage. In this context, the relationship that, throughout history, has linked the world of finance to that of art is complex and important.
Art & Money. Great Patrons of Yesterday and Today is the theme of the event that the Museum of Saving proposes, in person and online, on Tuesday 11 November, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
We will embark on a walk through the history of patronage from the Renaissance to the Modern Age, guided by the fascinating and erudite narration of Giovanni Morale, art historian and deputy director of Gallerie d’Italia – Milan who, in dialogue with the director Giovanna Paladino, will help us discover the most curious and interesting stories hidden behind famous artworks and collections that we have all been able to admire in person or in rich art volumes.
