Love and Money: Managing Expenses as a Couple – ONLINE EVENT

On Thursday, February 20, at 6 PM, the Museum of Saving, in collaboration with the Egea publishing house, is organizing the online event “Love and Money: Managing Expenses as a Couple” to explore the economic-financial dynamics in romantic relationships.

Love and Money: Managing Expenses as a Couple

How important is money in a relationship? How can you share financial decisions with your partner and within the family? What happens in a relationship when one partner wants to spend while the other wants to save?

Starting from the book “The Tightwad and the Spendthrift” by Scott Rick, we will delve into the financial dynamics within couples.

Decisions such as getting married, buying a house, having children, and ensuring their education—most of life’s economic choices are made within a relationship, and differences in money management between partners can lead to conflicts and marital stress.

Together with author Scott Rick and Vincenzo Galasso, the preface writer of the Italian edition, we will discover how different types of individuals interact within a couple. Do thrifty couples argue more, or is it those who love to spend?

The discussion will be moderated by Giovanna Paladino, Director and Curator of the Museum of Saving, encouraging us to reflect on how money is never just a matter of numbers but also of emotions, behaviors, values, and love.
