SAVINGS

This room, inaugurated for World Savings Day on 31 October 2017, houses the collection of money boxes donated to the Museum of Saving by Nicola and Rocca Tana.
The over 1,600 pieces in the collection, from around the world and dating to different historical periods,  are in a vast variety of materials and sizes and forms: from the classic pigs to cash registers, numerous animals, means of transport (cars, boats, trains….), post boxes, and human figures (heads, busts, whole figures) and books.

Overview

The room can house approximately 700 pieces at any one time, so the money boxes are exhibited on a rotational basis and in themed displays.
