On June 18, 2026, during the D&I in Finance 2026 conference promoted by ABI, the first edition of the ABI “Diversity and Inclusion” Awards was held in Rome. The initiative recognizes the most innovative and impactful projects developed by the banking sector in the areas of inclusion, social sustainability, and value creation for communities.
In this context, the “SAFE: Supporting Vulnerable People through Financial Education” project, promoted by the Museum of Saving, received the 2026 ABI “Diversity and Inclusion” Award in the “Inclusion and Accessibility in Financial Services” category, in recognition of its concrete contribution to promoting the economic independence of people in vulnerable situations through targeted financial education programs.
Active since 2017, the S.A.F.E. project has progressively developed a broad range of initiatives dedicated to different vulnerable groups – including migrants, women who have experienced violence, people with disabilities, and current and former incarcerated people – with the aim of strengthening basic financial skills and promoting social inclusion.
